She’s still the one!
After 13 years away from the UK, September saw the return of Shania Twain as she kicked off the European leg of her NOW tour. From the moment the lights went down, the Hydro audience were wowed by the glamorous songstress. Entering through the crowds in a red sparkly full-length gown and cowboy hat, she kicked things off with one of her new tracks ‘Life is About to Get Good’, followed by a run of the 90s hits that propelled her to stardom, ‘Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)’, and ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’.
The impressive production featured five moving cubes with projections of old music videos and Shania’s iconic leopard print graphic. Moving around the stage they created different layouts that raised the band feet above the singer.
There was no mistaking the fact that she was glad to be back in Glasgow - numerous mentions of her ties to Scotland, posing for selfies and even bringing two loyal fans on stage.
The 20-song set list was incredible, and the 10,000 strong Hydro audience never missed a word singing along. Ballad ‘You’re Still The One’ had the audience light up the arena with their phones, whilst ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ had everyone up on their feet. The show was incredible from start to finish, ‘COME ON OVER’ anytime Shania – Glasgow loves you!
