CHAMPAGNE PAPI IN THE HOUSE
With an incredible back catalogue of hits, the release of new album More Life and two months into his Boy Meets World European tour, Glasgow crowds were HYPED to see the Canadian rapper drop into the Hydro at 100 miles an hour.
Hitting the stage in a blur of hi-tops, a vest top and tracksuit bottoms, Drake kicked things off with Trophies, Started From The Bottom and Headlines – and probably could have kept the crowd entertained with minimal production and plenty of smoke.
Heading straight into a mix of hits HYFR, 0 to 100, All Me, Successful and Hotline Bling paired with pyro, a rising stage and an impressive lightshow of balloons that dropped from the roof in a series of colours, moving in a scintillating fashion across the standing crowd.
Charm and passion for his fans emanated from Drake as he stopped to chat to groups throughout the arena, even singling out a couple to kiss in the spotlight. To which they happily obliged.
A few surprises came in the form of an entire Rihanna mash-up including hits Work and Too Good, plus guest appearances from London grime artist Giggs and Jamaican singer Popcaan.
He ended the two-hour extravaganza on a B-stage with a giant inflated orb, encouraging his Glas-GOW fans to mosh and remember that ‘love is what is important’.
