Pete Tong

Glasgow departed for Ibiza with Pete Tong on Tuesday 27 November.  As temperatures dropped to -4 the audience danced as if they were on the infamous white isle, under the shelter of The SSE Hydro.

A mixture of ages made up a crowd that went wild for DJ Pete Tong who was joined by Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra, along with guest vocalists Becky Hill, Vula Malinga and Mysdiggi.

Hit after hit, the audience partied to the likes of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’, Florence and the Machine’s ‘You’ve got the love’ and Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Your Name’.  From the middle of the standing crowd you couldn’t have felt closer to clubbing in Ibiza on a Tuesday. Half way into set fans were mesmerised by a solo performance from the Heritage Orchestra's lead saxophonist.  As the beat dropped, hands went up in the air and the atmosphere was magnetic.

When the epic laser-show drew to a close, chants of ‘one more tune’ could be heard in true Scottish style. Pete Tong and the amazing Heritage Orchestra delivered with a finale of ‘Show Me Love’ and the reggae sample of ‘Outer Space.’
